Quote Tennessee Camp from Barton Simmons-Rivals.com June 2009"At running back, Devrin Young out of Knoxville (Tenn.) Bearden didn't let his limited size at 5-7 impact his effectiveness. Young is a rocket with the ball in his hands and for a small player made a heck of an impact in the passing game. Only a rising junior, Young was one of the most exciting players in attendance."
Quote from Barton Simmons-Rivals.com June 2009"I had seen just a little film on him before seeing him at camp this weekend. After seeing him in camp, I was very impressed. The kid has ridiculous acceleration and change of direction and he catches the ball really well out of the backfield. His size will limit him but depending on his development, I'm a believer in him as an impact player."
Quote from Chad Simmons-Scout.com from Tennessee Camp"A small athlete in Devrin Young also made some noise in Knoxville. He is a junior out of Bearden High School right there in Knoxville and he showed some extremely quick feet throughout the day. He is a running back and wide receiver that ran away from most that tried to stay with him during the camp. He can cut very quickly, he has great straight-line speed, and he made some nice catches at receiver for a guy that is known more for running the ball.Young is a 5-foot-6, 157 pound athlete and he is one to watch. Small he is, but very quick, very shifty, and he made some nice plays at Tennessee."
Quote from Carlos Younger-TNVarsity.com"Devrin Young is the most explosive player in Tennessee regardless of class"
